MEET MARIE

I am proud to call Waterford Township my home for the last 40 years. It is the place I CHOOSE to live, work and play today and tomorrow. My passion for Waterford is also shared by my three children who are all homeowners in Waterford Township.

I’ve been a Waterford Township Trustee since 2020 when I, shortly thereafter, retired as the Executive Director of the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce. My role as Executive Director provided me the unique experience of bringing business, government and citizens together towards solving problems, identifying opportunities and building the capacity that makes a community vibrant and strong.

My late husband and I owned a small businesses in Waterford Township and Ferndale, with the Waterford location being especially dear to our hearts - a vision turned to reality! Having worked in the private sector as a business owner as well as the Chamber of Commerce prepared me to serve as Trustee. However, I did discover the pace for successful outcomes in the public sector is at a turtle's crawl  and understandably so as we are serving the needs of our residents and community.

This is why it is of utmost importance to me that I can continue what I have worked so hard to accomplish. I can not walk away from a job unfinished. My goals include sensible economic development opportunities that will enhance our quality of life and sustainability for the future; projects that will improve Waterford for all. The decisions we make and actions we take today will impact our children tomorrow. I want and need to maintain my momentum and continue to make a difference when and where I can. The ability for me to vote on things that impact our community is critically important.

Should I be fortunate enough to be re-elected as Waterford Township Trustee, I pledge to continue to work tirelessly to support the best interest of our community of residents with sensible solutions and the many businesses that serve them.
